How do you get candle wax out of carpet?

Does any one know how to get candle wax out of carpet? One of my candle’s over flowed over my tv unit onto the floor. Now I have a  ugly waxy mark on my carpet.

Please help!

Ouch. Rip it up and polish your floorboards.

place paper towels over it, then iron over the paper towels, the heat from the iron should melt the wax and the paper towel should then absorb it, then sponge with wool wash to remove any excess residue. the other way is to place some ice blocks in a plastic sandwich bag and rub the ice over the wax making hard enough to pick off. hope these suggestions are of use littlemiss, good luck.

Place paper over it and a hot iron. The warm paper will absorb the grease.

Hey, did you know candlewax is a great lubricant for sticky drawers.

I just got a lovely old roller top writing desk- with a sticky roller. Will try my candlewax…

I heard how to get candle wax of a leather lounge suit. That was to rub it with panty hose. I did it on a micro suede lounge and it worked a treat. Maybe you could try that after youve picked as much as you can off. My brother had the same thing happen in a rented unit, and they had a carpet layer come, and he cut a piece out of the carpet in the wardrobe ( which then had phone books put on the hole) And he was able to cut out and replace the damaged carpet. Totally dishonest ! But justified at the time.
